Viti Levu Island

Viti Levu is the Fiji's largest island with an area of 10,389 square kilometers. It has 146 kilometers long and 106 kilometers wide. Hosting the capital city of Suva, Viti Levu is a home to approximately three quarters of the population of Fiji. The island features beautiful coastline, rainforests and clear blue water.

Trade winds are dominant in Fiji, affecting the area in all seasons with different duration and intensity. Thus, in the east of Viti Levu there are usually more winds and heavy rainfalls, while in the western part - the climate is more dry and sunny. This weather conditions can best be aeen from the air: the eastern area seems to be more dense and green; the area to the west is yellow-green or yellow-brown depending on the season.

Viti Levu is known for its abundance of four- and five-star hotels and restaurants. Almost all hotels offer spa facilities, pool, and private beaches. The restaurants serve delicious seafood which is the star ingredient on the island. Maya Dhaba, Mango Cafe, Daikoku Restaurant are among the most famous restaurants in the area.
