Tortuguero Beach

Tortuguero Beach is one of the most popular beaches of Costa Rica. It is situated northeast of Costa Rica, about 50 miles away from Puerto Limon. If people want to visit this place, they would have to ride a boat or a plane. In the entire Western Hemisphere, Tortuguero Beach is known to be the main nesting site of the endangered green turtles. "Tortuguero" literally means "Turtle Region". There are other species of turtles that visit the place to also lay their eggs. These would include Leatherback and Hawksbill Turtles. Although the name is based on the turtles nesting there, other creatures also inhabit the place such as the Spider Monkeys, Howler, and White-throated Capuchin. Other animals living in the island would include sloths, exotic birds that are of different species, and other reptiles.

Visitors will also be able to experience different types of cultures within the island. These would include Afro Caribbean, Nicaraguan, and Hispanic influences. Most of the island's environment is composed of attractive tropical rainforest. Because of its wonderful surroundings, it is not hard for people to admire the island's breathtaking scenery.

Visitors that are fond of eco-tourism could go to the beach at night and watch as the turtles lay their precious eggs in the dark sand. Besides watching turtles lay their eggs, visitors could also just admire the beauty of the place by strolling around the park or alongside the beach. If people desire to go to a peaceful and calm place, Tortuguero Beach would be their best bet.
