Rockley beach

Sometimes known as Rockley, Accra is one of the most popular beaches you'll find in Barbados - so it's perhaps not the place to go to if you're looking for secluded intimacy. The sandy beach is one of the widest on the Barbadian coast and it's popular with beachside vendors and jewellery merchants. Waves are relatively moderate without any undertow which means it suits sportspeople as well as those just wanting to relax. Try windsurfing, snorkelling, boogie boarding or sunfish sailing.

Relax on a chaise lounge or on the soft white sand, under the shade of a casuarina or sea-grape tree, or enjoy one of the many watersports activities that are available from the beach such as windsurfing, sunfish sailing, Hobie Cat rides and snorkeling. Boogie boarding and body surfing are particularly popular.

Vendors kiosks have been established at Rockley Beach, from which you can buy colourful clothing and local jewellery and handicraft.

Hop across the road to Quayside Centre for a great lunch (grilled fish, Chinese, Mexican, pizza, pasta, ice cream) and to shop for local craft, giftware and beachwear.
