Nea Skioni Beach

The beach of Nea Skioni is situated on the southwestern portion of Halkidiki's Kassandra peninsula. Every morning, you will see busy fishermen trading their fresh harvest to villagers and tourists alike.

Considered as Kassandra peninsula's most beautiful beach, the waters of Nea Skioni are absolutely crystal clear and clean. As a matter of fact, it has been awarded with a blue flag for many years consecutively. You will also see a marvelous forest of pine trees set on the wide sand beach of Nea Skioni. The taverns located on the beachfront offer a wide variety of traditional dishes from the fresh fish caught everyday from the bay.

The population of the village near Nea Skioni is about 1,000. The village was built closely to the ancient city called Skioni. According to history, Nea Skioni's first citizens were the warriors that came from Peloponnese, right after they won the Trojan War and established what is considered today as the first colony of the Greeks in southern Halkidiki.

One of these exciting cultural events is the 3-day yearly sardine feast that is celebrated on the first week of August. On this 3-day festival, Nea Skioni's port turns into a magnificent center of activity.
